SMS Messaging Consent
Last updated: April 17, 2026
How We Collect Consent
Skedge sends SMS messages only to participants who have been registered for a tournament by an authorized tournament organizer. Consent is collected in the following ways:
- Organizer registration: When a tournament organizer adds a participant to their event and provides the participant's phone number, the organizer confirms they have verbal or written consent from the participant to receive tournament-related notifications.
- Self-registration: When a player registers for a tournament through the Skedge mobile app, they provide their phone number during account creation and accept the Terms of Service which includes consent to receive transactional SMS notifications.
- Claim invitations: Organizers may generate a claim link for participants who have been pre-registered. The SMS sent contains a one-time link for the participant to claim their profile and view their tournament information.
Types of Messages
Skedge sends only transactional SMS messages related to tournament participation:
- Tournament registration confirmations
- Profile claim invitations (one-time link to set up your Skedge account)
- Match schedule notifications
- Score and result updates
Skedge does not send marketing, promotional, or advertising messages via SMS.
Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on tournament activity. Typically 1-5 messages per tournament event. No recurring or subscription-based messaging.
